The Daiwa Tournament Basiair Z45 QD Mag Sealed even manages to surpass its legendary predecessor. The Tournament Basiair Z45 is equipped with all the proven technologies that made the original model so successful, while also offering a number of improvements that significantly enhance its performance. One of the most important changes is the new rotor material. While the original Basiair used the Air Rotor system, which at the time was Daiwa’s lightest and strongest design, the new model relies on the Zaion rotor. This is a high-tech composite material developed by Daiwa that combines extremely low weight with impressive strength. Thanks to this, the reel delivers a level of performance and efficiency that is hard to appreciate without testing it in practice. Additionally, the Tournament Basiair Z45 QD is equipped with Mag Sealed technology. This technology originated from NASA scientists’ research, who were looking for a completely hermetic way to seal rocket fuel transfer systems. The solution was to use a special magnetic oil that, under the influence of a magnetic field, forms an exceptionally reliable seal and retains its properties even under significant pressure changes. Daiwa adapted this technology for fishing reels, where instead of retaining fluids inside, Mag Sealed prevents water, dust, sand, and other contaminants from entering the reel’s body and mechanism. As a result, the mechanism runs much smoother for a much longer time, and the reel’s service life is significantly extended. Thanks to this, the Tournament Basiair Z45 QD Mag Sealed is equally suitable for trophy carp fishing and method feeder fishing, as well as for long casts in sea surf fishing.
