When choosing, first decide whether you need a fine mixture that forms a working cloud, or larger particles that stay longer around the stain. A carp groundbait is usually sought for a different purpose than a large carp mixture, so it adjusted the amount, stickiness and nutritionality to the expected size of the fish, depth and movement of the water. In cold water or weak activity, start sparingly and increase only after a distinct stain reaction.

Moisten in small steps and let the mixture take over the water before final judgment.
